Eight missions, handled end to end
How Certu's solutions work together when something changes, across the services. Each scenario is illustrative.
An aircraft waits on a part
A maintenance squadron cannot return an aircraft to service until a replacement part arrives.
The aircraft is grounded until it arrives. Serviceable stock exists at another base warehouse 150 miles away, but no one has connected the two.
Transfers of controlled items between sites need sign-off from the supply officer. Certu prepares everything, then waits for that one click.
Amber values are illustrative.
- 1
Detects the delay
Sees the supplier's new date, links it to the open maintenance work order and alerts the maintenance and supply teams.
- 2
Recommends a decision
Compares waiting for the supplier with transferring stock from the other base, and sends the recommended transfer to the supply officer for approval.
- 3
Reserves the part
Once approved, reserves the part at the other warehouse and puts a priority pick at the top of the queue.
- 4
Plans the expedited move
Builds the shipment and route, assigns the first available vehicle and calculates the arrival time at the maintenance hangar.
- 5
Prevents the next one
Notes that this part is being used faster than planned and raises its reorder levels at both sites.
- ✓
Part arrives the same day
The aircraft returns to service 2 days sooner. The transfer, the approval and the reason are recorded.
A unit mobilizes on short notice
A Reserve or Guard unit receives orders to report to a mobilization site, and the supply plan has to scale up fast.
Equipment, supplies and consumables must reach the mobilization site before they do, on top of normal demand.
Commercial transport spend above $25,000 needs sign-off from the logistics officer. Everything else proceeds automatically.
Amber values are illustrative.
- 1
Brings it into one picture
Combines the unit's personnel and equipment lists with stock on hand and open orders, and shows what is missing.
- 2
Sizes the surge
Turns unit size and duration into a day-by-day supply requirement, and starts replenishment for what will run short.
- 3
Stages by priority
Rearranges staging and pick waves by unit and required delivery date, so the first items needed ship first.
- 4
Builds the movement plan
Plans loads, routes and delivery schedules to the mobilization site, sequenced against the reporting date.
- 5
Handles the breakdown
Two trucks become unavailable. Certu alerts within a minute, reassigns their loads to other vehicles and keeps the delivery dates.
- ✓
Ready before the unit arrives
Every load is delivered by day 9, without adding planners to the surge.
A hurricane is three days out
Relief supplies must be in place before landfall, and the plan will change once the storm hits.
Water, generators and shelter supplies need to reach 4 staging areas, and then the communities they serve.
Changing the priority order between staging areas needs sign-off from the operations officer. Certu proposes; the officer decides.
Amber values are illustrative.
- 1
Estimates the need
Estimates supplies needed for each staging area from the population each one serves.
- 2
Picks priority items first
Stages the warehouse by destination and priority, so the most critical supplies leave first.
- 3
Pre-positions
Plans moves to all 4 staging areas to finish well before landfall.
- 4
Catches the closure
A bridge on a planned route closes. Certu alerts within a minute and lists every delivery affected.
- 5
Reroutes
Rebuilds the routes around the closure and proposes a new delivery order for the officer to approve.
- ✓
Supplies keep moving
Staging areas are stocked before landfall, and deliveries continue around the closure with every change recorded.
Supplying a large installation every day
A central warehouse supplies dining facilities, motor pools, clinics and units across an Army installation, every day.
On top of 60 regular delivery points, each with its own delivery window and access times.
Moving a scheduled delivery to a different day needs sign-off from the receiving activity. Certu asks them directly.
Amber values are illustrative.
- 1
Forecasts each delivery point
Sets each point's daily need from real consumption, including the exercise surge.
- 2
Prepares the waves
Builds pick waves by route, so each truck is loaded in delivery order.
- 3
Plans the day
Builds routes and driver schedules for the installation's trucks against every delivery window and access time.
- 4
Flags a late vendor
A vendor delivery to the warehouse will arrive 3 hours late. Certu alerts within a minute and shows which afternoon deliveries depend on it.
- 5
Rebuilds the afternoon
Resequences the afternoon routes so the affected stops come last, and asks one activity to accept a later window.
- ✓
Every point supplied
The exercise and the regular delivery points are both covered, and planners spent the morning on decisions instead of rework.
Sailing moves up two days
A Marine unit is preparing to embark. Equipment and supplies must reach the port and be loaded in the right order before the ship sails.
120 loads still have to leave the base, reach the port and be staged in loading sequence.
Changes to the load sequence need sign-off from the embarkation officer. Certu proposes the new sequence and shows what moves.
Amber values are illustrative.
- 1
Sees the new date
Picks up the earlier sailing, lists every load that would now arrive too late and alerts the logistics team.
- 2
Proposes a new sequence
Rebuilds the load sequence around the new date, keeping items needed first ashore at the right place in the ship, and sends it to the embarkation officer.
- 3
Restages the warehouse
Re-orders picking and staging on base so loads leave in the new sequence.
- 4
Compresses the move to port
Rebuilds truck schedules from base to port to fit the shorter window and the port's gate times.
- ✓
Loaded in sequence, on the new date
Every load reaches the port in loading order before the earlier sailing. The approved sequence is recorded.
A ship's maintenance period at risk
Parts from many suppliers must arrive before each work package starts. One late component can hold up the whole schedule.
It is one of 14 suppliers feeding the maintenance period, and its work package starts next week.
Resequencing work packages needs sign-off from the maintenance planner. Certu presents the options and their impact.
Amber values are illustrative.
- 1
Detects the delay
Picks up the supplier's new date and identifies the work package and the jobs that depend on it.
- 2
Recommends a new sequence
Proposes moving forward work packages whose parts are already in, so crews stay busy, and sends it to the maintenance planner.
- 3
Re-kits the parts
Re-kits parts on hand to match the new work-package order.
- 4
Reschedules pier deliveries
Moves deliveries to the pier to match the new sequence and the available delivery windows.
- 5
Expedites the late part
Plans the fastest move from the supplier to the shipyard the moment the component is ready.
- ✓
The schedule holds
Crews keep working on other packages, and the delayed job starts as soon as its part arrives. The decision and the reason are recorded.
The supply line moves with the force
In a deployment, the plan changes as the situation changes. Units relocate on short notice, and a supply route can become unusable overnight.
Enemy activity makes the route unusable. Resupply planned for the next 72 hours was built around the old locations and the old route.
Routes, supply points and priorities are set by operations. Certu works within them, and every change to resupply priorities or supply points waits for the logistics commander's approval.
Amber values are illustrative.
- 1
Intakes and processes the data
Receives the new unit locations and the route closure, and shows every planned delivery, convoy and supply point affected.
- 2
Recalculates demand
Updates each unit's expected consumption for the new positions and operating tempo, so resupply matches what will actually be used.
- 3
Recommends a new resupply plan
Proposes serving the forward units from an alternate supply point on an open route, ranks deliveries by mission priority, and sends the plan to the logistics commander.
- 4
Re-prioritizes the supply points
Moves the highest-priority items to the front of the queue at the alternate supply point and rebalances stock between supply points.
- 5
Rebuilds the movement plan
Builds new convoy loads, routes and timings on the routes operations has cleared, avoiding the closed route entirely.
- 6
Refills the pipeline at home
Raises replenishment at the home-station depot to replace what the forward units will now use faster.
- ✓
Resupply keeps up with the move
The forward units are resupplied on the new routes, the plan keeps adjusting as positions change, and every decision is recorded with who approved it.
One picture, with Smart Alerts
Every change from every system flows into Certu Intelligence: requirements, maintenance, stock, transport, suppliers and the operational picture. It links them, finds what puts the mission at risk, and turns it into a Smart Alert with a recommended decision.
